Meet Dr. Chan

Dr. Melissa Chan, M.D., is a double board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine, a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), and an expert in adult and pediatric ADHD evaluation and treatment. She provides physician-led Direct Primary Care in Salt Lake City, Utah, specializing in menopause and perimenopause care, ADHD across the lifespan, hormone therapy, and metabolic health.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Utah, completed residency training in Florida, and pursued additional fellowship training in Medical Humanities (“Art in Medicine”) at Georgetown University. During her time at Georgetown, Dr. Chan received a teaching award from resident physicians, recognizing her excellence in clinical education, communication, and patient-centered care.

Dr. Chan’s clinical career spans the United States and internationally. She practiced medicine in New Zealand and later cared for patients across the San Francisco Bay Area, including work with UC Berkeley and Kaiser Permanente. At Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, she provided comprehensive outpatient primary care and worked regularly in the OB/GYN department, supporting women’s health visits, outpatient gynecology, and prenatal group care. This experience strengthened her expertise in hormone balance, perimenopause, menopause, pregnancy, and women’s health across the lifespan.

Her background includes hospital medicine, outpatient primary care, integrative and academic medicine, and community health. She also serves as a physician consultant for the Orientation Center for the Blind in California, supporting adults with visual impairment and complex medical needs.

Dr. Chan has extensive experience diagnosing and treating ADHD in children, adolescents, and adults, including complex presentations involving anxiety, sleep disorders, and hormonal transitions. She works closely with patients and families to create individualized treatment plans that evolve over time.

Dr. Chan believes exceptional medical care begins with time, trust, and listening. She partners with patients to develop clear, personalized care plans grounded in evidence-based medicine and aligned with each patient’s goals and lifestyle.

Through Lotus Health, her physician-led Direct Primary Care practice in Salt Lake City, Dr. Chan offers extended visits, same- or next-day access, transparent pricing, and individualized follow-up. Her mission is to ensure every patient feels heard, understood, and fully supported in achieving lifelong health and wellness.

Holly

Meet Holly, RN

Dr. Chan and Holly worked together in the hospital, where Dr. Chan was consistently impressed by Holly’s dedication to patients, sound clinical judgment, and warm, steady presence.

Holly brings extensive hospital and emergency room nursing experience, strong clinical knowledge, and a reassuring calm that patients immediately recognize. She is known for helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and genuinely cared for, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Outside of the clinic, Holly is a devoted wife and mother of two wonderful children who fill her days with joy, adventure, and laughter. She enjoys golfing, playing softball, spending time with her family, and curling up with a good book.

Amanda

Meet Amanda, MA

Amanda brings a calm, welcoming presence to Lotus Health and is often the first friendly face patients see when they arrive. With a background in both healthcare and early childhood education, she has a natural ability to help patients feel comfortable, understood, and at ease.

Prior to joining Lotus Health, Amanda worked as a phlebotomist with Labcorp and Intermountain Healthcare. She is known for her skilled, gentle blood draws and was frequently requested for pediatric, elderly, and difficult draws due to her accuracy, steadiness, and reassuring communication. Her ability to support patients who feel anxious about needles is one of her greatest strengths.

Originally from Snowflake, Arizona, Amanda grew up in a close-knit family that shaped her thoughtful, patient-centered approach. Her experience as a preschool teacher further strengthened her skills in listening, patience, and creating a sense of safety and trust.

Patients and coworkers describe Amanda as gentle, encouraging, and sincere. Her warmth, clinical skill, and genuine care for others make her a valued member of the Lotus Health team.

Marissa

Meet Marissa, MA

Marissa is a Medical Assistant and Front Desk team member at Lotus Health. She is currently attending University of Utah with the goal of becoming a nurse. She is driven by a passion for making a visible, meaningful impact in people’s lives.

Marissa brings a strong foundation in communication, responsibility, and compassion from her diverse background in front desk roles, lifeguarding, food service, and volunteer work in hospital settings and animal shelters. These experiences shaped her love for connecting with people and supporting them with care and empathy.

Her approach to patient care centers on compassion and attentiveness, with a focus on helping people feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the moment they walk through the door. Marissa hopes that each interaction, no matter how small, leaves patients feeling cared for and uplifted.

Originally from Las Vegas, Marissa now lives in Utah. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new places to eat, and hanging out with her two French bulldogs. She lives by a favorite Bob Marley quote that reflects her outlook on life: “Don’t worry about a thing, ’cause every little thing is going to be alright.”
